I started this company in 2016 and was as green as can be. Even though I have always been technically savvy, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when it came to wedding videography. Other than messing around with an entry level video editing apps to make personal videos, I truly had no formal training. Eventually I plunged into the depths of youtube and gathered all that I could before shooting my first wedding. It was most definitely a bumpy ride in the beginning, but we eventually got there haha.
In April of 2019 I made the leap and decided to go full time with my business. With my wife and two young boys to care for, it was scary! However, business was getting too busy to look away and I needed to make a decision if I wanted to stay at my 9-5 job or become a rainbow unicorn and follow my dreams to become a filmmaker.
This brings us today, I’ve become that rainbow unicorn I dreamed about (lol). I want to help you follow your dreams and to be the mentor that I never had early on in my career. There is so much more information that I know now that could have been so incredibly useful when I was getting started.
Filmmaking is complex, it’s not only very technical, but it is also deeply philosophical when it comes to telling stories. Every mentorship session is tailored to each person. We first identify what your needs are and address them so that you can become the best filmmaker you can be. I offer two types of mentorships, the first is a 2.5 hour virtual call. This is great for hyper focusing on a few topics. The other is a 1 on 1 workshop which is a full day experience. It starts off with a coffee shop talk, followed by shooting a couple’s session, wrapping up with some side by side editing. It is a full in depth experience that walks you through every step of the process of creating a video. This options is fully immersive and great for hand on learners.
VIRTUAL MENTORSHIP / $500
A 90 minute meeting over a video call. The topic of discussion will be completely tailored to you. Go through the ins and outs of owning a successful videography business or spend an entire session on coloring. You choose! Best suited for hyper focusing on a few topics.
1:1 WORKSHOP / $1950
This is an all-day experience, ideal for hands-on learners. We start off with a mentorship session, followed by a video content shoot, and then finishing with an editing session. It is the full process from beginning to end and it has been the most impactful way to learn. Feel free to ask for our brochure for more detailed info! I often host these in Oregon. Many of my mentees have made a fun trip out of it to check out the PNW. I also can travel to you, travel expenses will added in this scenario.
